By chance but later by design, work sent her husband on auditing assignment at Akim-Tafo in the Eastern Region and some parts of the Northern Region of Ghana. She occasionally visited her husband on weekends and vacation in these regions. She saw how the women in the Northern Region derived and prepared shea butter from the nut of the karite - or shea butter tree. Soon her love for cocoa and shea butter grew in intensity because she felt that these special ingredients would become the key to starting a business that would create quality Ghanaian products as well as make a social impact.

With the knowledge and skills she acquired from these women in preparation of shea butter ---by crushing and boiling the nuts---to remove the smooth, buttery pastry, rich in natural fatty acids and vitamins, she initially started producing cocoa and shea butter products. These products were produced on a small scale for family use only. The feedback she got from those who used the products encouraged her to produce these products on a commercial scale.

Today, by these small steps she took, she has been able to gather the less privileged in society in the Eastern Region, and have employed some of them to work for her in processing the African Black Soap and Shower gels alonga line of products. Others who are on contract basis have earned their upkeep and have also helped a lot of other families who did not have any source of income.

She has a compassion for helping these rural and disadvantaged people in society. She has a strong desire to empower them to be able to provide for themselves and their families.
Working with rural folks, school dropouts, widows just to mention a few who work in co-operatives comes so naturally to her because she is touched by their plight and always wants to give a helping hand. They participate in the production and packaging of the products to support the operations and earn an income, to pay fees of their children, medical bills and provide shelter toimprove the quality of life of economically deprived people.
